This three-part video discusses two stroke 50cc carb theory that is common on most mopeds or scooters. I will go through the engine showing what might be a carb problem or a vacuum leak

    The talk about teachers is great. No one learns the same way. The smartest of us all learn very differently then most.

    Hey! I have a huge question. I disassembled my scooter the other day and I just want the motor. Its a 4 stroke motor. I have NO idea about motors. The question is: how do i get it to start? Do I need the battery to get it working? Or can I just use the kick and it will start after some time? ill send a link of my engine on mail if some one wants to see what I’m talking about.

    ive cleaned the carb and the air filter was always clean. i have the air opening at 2.5 turns. and needle in middle setting. still no change.. the only odd thing ive observed is when hault for a stop and when i take of again.. it always misfires.. is it taking in too much gas? i have to squeez the throttle gently and build the revolutions so that it will take off well. what could be causing this problems.

    @inakigoitia
    Replace the screw as you have done.
    Clean your air filter and possibly carb.
    When the screw was gone you engine was taking in more air through the hole. My best guess from your description is that the air filter may be clogged and not letting as much air into the carb as it normally would. When you first replaced the screw it essentially choked off the engine.
    If you have a pilot or air/fuel screw you may try to adjust that for more air should cleaning the air box not help.Goodluck

    i have a 17.5 delorto carburator in my gilera runner 49cc. now during this winter i dint notice that my idle screw fell off. but still the bike run perfectly, it had a perfect 1200rpm idle and the bike wouldnt die at stop. now last week i bought a new idle screw and as i placed it the carburetor. as soon it was installed the bike didnt idle it would just die. so i adjusted the screw in and out to see the changes and no change. could you help me out with some advise?

    hey randy evry carb has a pilot jet. This smaller carbs (under 16mm) have a pilot jet build in in the atomizer of the fuel (the main nozzle) so they combine them to save space and the pilot jet is mainly placed under the main jet so they save space and money (because they have to drill les holes)

    i have a mini 49cc chopper, im having serous trouble getting it started, iv’e checked the spark plug (which is fine) it jus seems like the fuel isnt getting through to the engine, because i took the tube out that leads from the petrol tank to the carb, and manually put some petrol in the engine, and it runs, thers somthing stopping the petrol gettin to the engine…..

    when you took a drink of that beer i thought i could hear a little too much air intake .. this will cause a build up of gas and increased internal pressure …
