The Chinese engine kit I bought off of Ebay to mount on my 70′s Schwinn Cruiser wasn’t quite what I had hoped it to be in terms of reliability, in fact, it blew up. I replaced the engine with a Morini S5K2 50cc moped eng, had to fab up my own mounts but it works great AND is actually faster than the old 80cc Chinese wonder it replaced (and MUCH quieter mechanically). I have approx 50miles on this bike now with zero issues. Centrifical clutch and a lighting coil built into the magneto for a headlight..cool huh?
So let’s say you want to do a little bit of traveling on a moped, enough that it requires a trailer. Well, obviously you want a light trailer and a light load on a light moped. Since a moped doesn’t require a license, does that mean you can pull a bicycle trailer on main roads with it? Do you need to outfit it with lights or something first? Should I expect to be pulled over and be prepared to argue it?
